This one is an ode to the first love of my life.

The beat has a nostalgia to it that had me thinking about old times even as I was making it, and the subject matter pretty much chose itself. I came up with the “you, you’re a part of me...” bit of the hook, and I can remember having some difficulty showing Tiece the melody because I’m really not a singer! lol I ended up recording it at home and using autotune to show her the melody, it made me sound like some kind of weird @davidBowie knock off, but she got the idea and smashed it out the park! The “weave me into your tapestry…” bit is all her and is just what we needed.

The lyrics are about music, particularly hip hop music and culture. Music really helped me get through some tough times as a kid and is still a huge part of my life today. I imagined it embodied as a person and wrote a song for them.
