The first track on the album is the most recently made. We’d just come out of lockdown and me, Tiece and King Boyden were at In-Spire Sounds studio. It felt like spring was in the air and it was one of the first times we’d had an opportunity to jam together like this for over a year. We were making good progress on a beat and it felt like it was time to start thinking about lyrics.

We’d been there all day, and as I looked out the window and noticed the pink, purple and orange clouds, I was reminded of a line that had been playing around in my head for a while; “the sky changes colour but the city don’t change”. I let Tiece hear the lyric and she pretty much straight away started weaving this thread into the beautiful hook for the song.
